Seductive Sugar

Let's hear a round of applause for the first official poop blog!  Wooo Hooo!  I have several things to mention in the following points, but without further ado, let's get this poop on the road!

1.  Yo, cuz, how in the poop do I change that nice little profile you put together for me???  I've tried.  Hard.  And I can't seem to find the magic page.

2.  Well, although Trevor did an excellent job introducing us, I'll elaborate.  I'm Meg, T's cuz.  We like food.  And feeling good.  And pooping daily seems to be a nice link between these important life details so we decided to spread the joy of regularity.

3.  I'll start with a nice little story about the two of us.  Several years ago, Trevor and I were at my parent's cabin, drinking Coca Colas like it was our job.  Now, in my parent's defense, our cabin was always a place where special treats were allowed.  I presume that our sensitive little digestive systems were not equipped to deal with the enormous amounts of sugar/caffeine we were pouring into them.  Not so surprisingly, we were taking turns, quite frequently, dashing to the out-house.  Remember this Trev?  We actually thought it was really funny or cool or something.  In a sense it was.  Ridding our bodies of waste products should give us a sense of relief.  On the other hand, the massive amounts of sugar we were feeding ourselves was, in the least, counter-intuitive.  And that's the point I want to focus on.  Sugar.  A love-hate relationship at its best.  I, myself, have fallen victim to this destructive little carbohydrate.  I need it and resent it at the same time.  What may start as a rewarding mid-morning snack soon turns into an afternoon of blood-sugar spikes and dips.  I get fatigued just thinking about it!  In the past, I've found that the best way to avoid sugar is to inform myself of all of its nasty side-effects.  This is not a hard task; sugar has proven its negative effects on several aspects of our physical health, and in turn our mental health as well.  Included in these side-effects can be some serious digestive issues.  And so the stage is set......

4. (Did I mention that sleep is also really important for digestive health?  Actually, I have no idea if this is true, but I'm super tired and about to hit the hay.  Tomorrow, I will outline the scientific repercussions of sugar and it's counterparts on our overall health.  Night!)
